Messi's move out of Barcelona to PSG has raised many criticisms by anti Messi fans one of which is that, Messi should have stayed in Barcelona and play for free if he truly loves Barcelona as he claims. During his farewell message at a press conference Messi fought tears as he confirmed his decision to leave the club but some people think he was only shedding crocodile tears to deceive people when in reality he truly wanted to leave
However, Messi is believed by some anti fans to have rinsed Barcelona’s finances completely dry, to the point they cannot even register him and other players. They believe if he truly wanted to help the club he could have asked Barcelona what level of wages they could afford in relation to the La Liga rules, and play for that amount.
Despite the fact that Messi accepted a 50% reduction in salary just to push this new contract through, some people still did not commend him for that. They still believe that's not enough and that he should have played for free
Most players of today will never agree a 20% cut no matter how much they love their team let alone accepting a 50% cut. This is what Messi did to help the team but it's such a pity that the club still couldn't afford him even at such reduction
