English side Newcastle are growing confident in their quest to add Kieran Trippier to their ranks as the English midfielder has been showing signs of wanting to exit Atletico Madrid. Manchester United were also in the picture at one time, but Newcastle are looking like the favoured ones that he's going to sign for. If the deal goes through, Kieran Trippier would become the first signature of the Saudi Arabian-led takeover.

Eddie Howie's viewpoint

Manager Eddie Howie thinks that was not a good idea pointing out that focus should be made on players who are not the hottest properties but have an awesome playing reputation. From a recent press conference, the Newcastle boss highlighted that his focus would be on reinforcing his wingback positions first.

Kieran Tripper's current deal

The current deal for Kieran Trippier runs until the end of the season and Atletico Madrid would have to let go of him now, or risk losing him at the end of the season for free. Newcastle are looking to capitalize on the midfielders desire to return to England.

Kieran Tripper is indeed a great player and it the deal succeeds his addition would go a long way in boosting the Newcastle defence.
