The desperate Benin boys gave Morocco the shocker of their life yesterday with a one man down in the rouund of 16 of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt. Benin had their goal in the 53rd minute in the second half with a corner to see them through in their quest but Youssef En-Nesyri equalized for Morocco in the 76th minute. Ziyech later lost the chances of putting Morocco to the quarter final by losing a penalty kick that could have sent Benin boys packing in the 96th minute
Benin player Khaled Adenon got the second yellow card in the game which sent him off the pitch and the Benin boys had to play with a one man down and held the game in 1-1 till 120 minute was over. Fortunately, the penalty shootout ended in victory for the Benin boys and they robbed Morocco the ticket the quarter finals of the 2019 African Cup of Nations with 10-man
Right from group stage, Benin has not won a single match in group F. Their three matches in the group stage ended in draw which made them qualify with 3 points as one of the best losers in the tournament.
Benin has played a total of 13 games in the AFCON without winning a single game in 90 minutes and even 120 minutes and the same thing is happening in the ongoing AFCON. They just pulled four draws in the ongoing AFCON and it has landed them in the Quarter finals against Senegal
This is a very weird history which they have held unto. Tjis is why football could be funny at times because I really can't explain how a team without a single victory will go this far while those who won their three matches in the group stage have been eliminted😃
