The introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) has been a great innovative way to help minimize human errors made by the referee during a game. Its main purpose is to help the referee make correct decisions on the pitch.

The VAR team have the best viewing camera angles to correctly monitor the activities on the pitch. They money fouls, offside, handball, red cards, etc.

°

The introduction of VAR has made me enjoy football once again. Now I watch football knowing fully that when a player tries to cheat on the pitch, the VAR team can always review it and alert the referee.

With this technology, we've now passed the era when an offside goal would be counted. We have passed the era when a handball would also be counted for a player.

°

Despite the efforts of VAR to eliminate cheating and unfair advantage on the pitch, it's a pity that some people still consider VAR as a failure. They don't see the beauty of VAR but are always looking for the aspects VAR failed to make accurate decisions

°

Some people even say VAR is killing the excitement of football and I always ask them if they want us to go back to the era when a player will score an offside goal and get away with it. An era when a players will foul his opponent and go ahead to score and get away with it.

You might also be one of those people who consider VAR as curse to football, but the question is, what should be used in replacement of VAR?

°

What do you think should replace VAR? Or do you think we should go back to the era where error is considered as part of the game of football?
