If you're very familiar with Real Madrid you will discover that they have a long tradition of disrespecting their most revered players. Madrid fans will always have a reason to boo their famous players who under perform or goof at a point.
Can you remember the legendary goalkeeper Casillas and how he left Santiago Bernabeu unceremoniously? Can also remember the legendary Raul and how he was shipped to Bundesliga where he finally retired at Shalke 04?
Cristiano Ronaldo has been a blessing to Madrid, winning trophies and giving them a remarkable comeback for matches they could have lost. Despite his spectacular performance at Madrid, there's always a reason for Madrid fans to boo him and throw back lash
Ronaldo used to express his pains at first but with time he developed a thick skin against booing. The only way Ronaldo could silence his booers is by scoring goals upon goals and when he fails to do so, they boo him more than every other player.
During the semifinal 2017 UCL match between Madrid and Bayern, Madrid was almost at the verge of going out of the tournament when they previously lost 2-1 to the Bavarians in the first leg. I remember how Ronaldo was heavily booed like no other player until he gave a hat trick in the second half which put the fans in celebration galore
Looking at Lionel Messi, he's a God who's being worshipped at Barcelona. He's well respected and loved by Barcelona fans. Even when he performs below their expectations in a match you will hardly see Barcelona fans lashing out to him. Although this doesn't mean that Messi also don't suffer booing from Barca fans but definitely not like Ronaldo does from Madrid fans
Most great players of Madrid have been heavily booed at one point or the other. I remember the likes of Raul, Casillas, Zidane and what they faced at Madrid.
Despite the glory a sought after player like Ronaldo has given to Madrid, Madrid fans still have a reason to disrespect him more than Barcelona has done to Messi
