Yes these two legends will be too old to play but that's not going to stop them, anyway!
In 2022, Ronaldo will be 37 years and he wouldn't even rule himself out of the FIFA World Cup. Although his physical fitness might have dwindled by then but he's going to do anything he can to stay fit and play his last FIFA World Cup.

Ronaldo will still play good football at the 2022 FIFA World but I doubt the possibility of him being that kind of player that everyone sees as a threat on the pitch. 2022 FIFA World Cup will mark his retirement for Portugal
As for Lionel Messi, he will be 35 years in the next three years but will also not rule himself out of the 2022 World Cup just as Ronaldo. His contract with Barcelona will end in 2021 and it's very likely the contract will be extended with one or two more years.

Messi might still keep playing for Argentina and will want to feature in 2022 FIFA World Cup as his last one after which he will retire for Argentina.

He will still play good football in 2022 but he will not be the deadly Messi we all know
