Newcastle United have had a £3M bid accepted for 21 year-old West Ham right-back Harrison Ashby according to SKY Sports' Dharmesh Sheth and will make a formal announcement of the player’s signing soon:

A product of the West Ham Academy, Ashby made his Hammers' first team debut last season in the EFL Cup against Charlton and his Premier League debut as a substitute away to Arsenal with football director Mark Noble praising his "physical stature" as well as the technical skills which meant the youngster was wanted by every club in London.

Newcastle have sought cover for key man Kieran Trippier ever since the long-term injury to Emil Krafth last year and the 21 year-old, who is eligible to play for Scotland internationally, fits the bill bringing superb technical skills and can learn a lot from the experienced international full-back who is often Newcastle's on-field Captain, and may perhaps succeed him one day in the right-back slot at St James’ Park.
