This is the second part of this series where I am throwing light on some of greatest football players of the modern era. In the precious part, I covered 4 major players of the current football world, if you haven't read that yet, you can read it here.

In this post, I will talk about 3 more players, so let's begin:

Eden Hazard

Eden hazard’s stardom began while he was playing for Lille in France, a club he joined in 2005. Here, he continued to play for the club’s academy making his first professional debut in November 2007.

Later on, he went on to be an integral part of the Lillie while Rude Garcia was the manager. During 2009/2010 season he won the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) Young Player of the Year award becoming the first non-French player to win the prize.

In June 2012 he joined Chelsea FC and played his first game for the club during their pre-season tour on 18th Jul, 2012. In 2013/2014 season he was nominated for FIFA Ballon d’Or’ honor but won PFA Young Player of the Year award instead. Hazard’s star has continued to shine in Chelsea during which he has been named PFA Team of the Year four times.

Hazard performance continues to glow as he plays for Chelsea where he recently made a milestone by scoring his 100th goal while playing against Brighton at the Amex stadium.

In 2018, he was the captain of Belgium during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He has a 4-star skill moves rating.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

His nationality is Sweden. He began his international football career when he joined Ajax. That season, he scored five goals for Ajax in his first Champions League in 2002. In 2004, he got the ‘Goal of the Tournament’ honor. It was during this league that he also played his final game for Ajax. He moved to Juventus and later to Internazionale where he was the leading goal scorer in Serie A having scored a total of 25 goals during the 2008/2009 season.

In 2009, Ibrahimovic joined Barcelona where he finished with 11 goals and later moved to play for Milan and finished with 13 goals.

In 2013 Ibrahimovic won the FIFA Puskas Award for his goal having been the best goal for Sweden against England. The goal was a bicycle kick that was made far from the opponent’s box.

His switch for clubs continued, and in 2016 he joined Manchester United and scored a total of 20 goals in the English premier league that season.

Ibrahimovic later left Manchester United and currently plays for LA Galaxy where he has scored 20 goals so far.

Luka Modric

He is a Croatian who plays in the mid-field currently in Real Madrid. Modric’s professional football began to shine when he joined Dinamo Zagreb during the 2005/2006 season. During this season he secured himself a position in the first team and contributed 7 goals in 31 matches during which the club won the league.

On 26th Apr, 2018 Modric agreed to join the English Premier League joining Tottenham Hotspur where he signed a six-year contract where he played till Real Madrid signed him on 27th Aug, 2016. With Real Madrid, he signed a five-year deal and made a debut against Barcelona during the second leg final of 2012 Supercopa de Espana at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium where he was replacing Mesut Ozil. Real Madrid won the match something that saw Modric win a trophy 36 hours after his signing.

On 18th Dec, 2018 Real Madrid won the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup something which saw Modric receive the Silver Ball for the stunning performance he had shown during the tournament. He played his 200th game for Real Madrid on 12th Mar, 2017.

In September 2018, he won the UEFA Men’s player of the Year award in addition to The Best FIFA Men’s Player awards that have only been worn by Ronaldo and Messi in the past.
