The atmosphere at the Anfield will be electric as this is a highly anticipated clash between the European giants.Liverpool have an excellent home record in UEFA Champions League as they are unbeaten in the last 11 matches they have played at Anfield. It was because of their home record last season that they enjoyed a fruitful UEFA season last year. Bayern on the other hand have played three matches at Anfield and are yet to open their score at Anfield. Tonight might be the night for them to open their scoring at Anfield. Bayern Munich have made it to the semi finals of Champions League seven times out of last nine appearances.

LIVERPOOL

Liverpool usually turn up against any opposition at home and tonight we might see the same thing happening. The quality and speed of Liverpool might turn out to be the difference between the two sides. Liverpool have been a little shaky recently as they drew two games against the opponents with which they were expected to win comfortably. They are unbeaten in the last five games and got back to the winning ways against Bournemouth defeating them 3-0.

TEAM NEWS

Liverpool received a huge boost after Roberto Firmino was declared fit to play in this fixture. However, Dejan Lovren is a huge doubt because of his thigh injury while Virgil Van Dijk won't be a part of this fixture because of his suspension. Chamberlain and Joe Gomez are long term absentees while the likes of Shaqiri and Fabinho are expected to be fit after suffering minor injuries.

IMPACT PLAYERS

There is no doubt in the capabilities of Mo Salah. Having already scored 20 goals this season, he might be looking to add a few more to his kitty. He scored in the last win against Bournemouth, his speed and class might fetch him a goal in this fixture as well.

Sadio Mane returned to his goal scoring form and he has now scored four times in the last four league games. He opened the scoring in last three matches for Liverpool.

Roberto Firmino is also a player to watch out for as the Brazilian has been in top form recently. He has also scored a hat-trick this season.

BAYERN MUNICH

Bayern Munich are in good form currently after starting the season poorly. They have been scoring plenty of goals but they haven't scored at Anfield yet. Scoring eight goals in this season's Champions League they are the top scorers. They have lost one match out of their last five matches, a loss which came against Bayer Leverkusen at the start of this month. They bounced back well and won the next two matches comfortably.

TEAM NEWS

Manuel Neuer suffered a thumb injury recently but he is expected to be fit and will play against Liverpool. Thomas Muller is suspended and the likes of Arjen Robben, Corentin Tolisso will not feature in this game because of injuries. Tolisso however, is expected to be fit early next month after suffering from ligament injury.

IMPACT PLAYERS

In Robert Lewandowski, Bayern have one of the best strikers in the world and the expectations on him are very high. He has scored 25 goals this season and his chances of scoring tonight are very high.

Joshua Kimmich has played a crucial role for Bayern at the center back as well as going forward. He has 12 assists this season and his battle against Andrew Robertson will be worth watching.

Serge Gnabry is also in great goal scoring form with seven goals this season. He also has five assists to add to his seven goals.

HEAD TO HEAD

Liverpool have a slight upper hand over Bayern in the previous battles as among a total of seven matches played, the Reds have won three while Bayern have won two and the other two ended in draws.

PREDICTION

I am expecting a really fast start from the Reds but due to the absence of Van Dijk, their defense is week and we might see a goal from Lewanowski. However, I think that Liverpool will edge past Bayern as the latter are not the team they used to be. I am predicting a score of 2-1 in favour of Liverpool.
