Everton has struggled against the Spurs if we look at the history of matches played between the two sides. On top of that the recent form of Everton doesn't seem to be a threat for Spurs as the former haven't won a game in their last four. The two sides have met as many as 161 times in the past and Tottenham have came out winners on 61 occasions while the host have won only 48 times. Playing at Goodison Park might seem to be an advantage for Everton plus given the fact that Tottenham's record away from home isn't convincing enough but given the recent form and the type of players Spurs have, everyone will expect them to win this one.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Spurs have been slightly inconsistent this season but somehow they have managed to stay at number 3 spot on the points table for some time now. They have only lost against Arsenal in the last five fixtures winning the recent four straight matches. The 4-2 loss against Arsenal was evened out when Spurs defeated the Gunners 2-0 in the EFL Cup.

Multiple players have stepped up for Spurs on multiple occasions and anyone among the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Erikson or Son can score. But for me the key men for Spurs will be Harry Kane and Dele Alli. Harry Kane hasn't been at his best recently but we all know that he just needs a goal or two to come back in his zone. Dele All on the other hand scored against Arsenal and has looked good at times. He is a very capable player with the ability of turning the game on his head.

Pochettino is facing little trouble with his midfield players as most of the preferred ones are out injured. Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama and Dembele are all out due to injuries but they still have a decent midfield composition.

EVERTON

Barring the 1-0 win over Crdiff, Everton have been poor in the recent matches of the Premier League. While the losses against the oppositions like Liverpool and Manchester City can be justified but a 1-1 draw against New Castle was a real let down for the team. They are sitting on number 8 on the points table with six wins ,five losses and such draws. They could have done better especially with the lower ranked opponents.

There are only a couple of players who can make some impact in this game which include Richarlison and the left back Lucas Digne. Lucas Digne has been rock solid at the back but he has enjoyed little support from the fellow backers. Richarlison has scored eight times this season and looks to be the only forward player who is scoring goals for Everton.

Idrissa Gueye might return to the starting 11 after missing out on the last game against Manchester City. James McCarthy might also be available for selection after suffering from a leg injury.

PREDICTION

Looking at the recent form and the history between the two sides, Tottenham look to be clear favourites despite the fact that they are playing away from home. I am expecting a score of 2-0 or 2-1 in favour of Spurs.
