Match week three took off at the Etihad Stadium. The host Man city welcomed their opponent from Emirate with the hope of getting into a formidable brawl following the impressive 6:0 defeat West Brom suffered in the hands of Arsenal in the midweek Corollado match.

Arsenal has faced a fiercer setback in the first two Premier League games. With that in mind, they head north hoping to avoid a successive league defeat. Unfortunately, their opponent is the defending champions and the pressure mounted on manager Mikel Arteta was no doubt overwhelming.

Man City did well not to take any chances against the gunners. Having bounced back from their tricky start as Norwich thumped them over in the first game of the league opening, they will go on to extend their 11 matches unbeaten against Arsenal. Peps boys trashed the visitors 6-0 to win the match at full time.

Ilkay Gundogan nods in at the back post, latching on to Gabriel Jesus' dinked cross giving City the lead in just 7 minutes. Bernardo Silva curls a ball into the box which Arsenal fails to clear, allowing Ferran Torres to tap in from close range at the 12th minute. After which, Arsenal couldn't recover as they went all down to 6-0 at full time.

What is Arsenal's hope?

The start of the 2021/22 Premier League season is no doubt a dark horse for the Gunners. For the first time in 66 years, Arsenal has lost three consecutive matches to different opponents. Could we say the fixture wasn't just right for the Gunners? Or it's a managerial problem? None of these is consequential as Gunner's problems have only continued to plummet over the years.

It is quite too early to conclude that Arsenal is headed for relegation however, the current terrain makes it look more imminent than ever. If at the end of the day, they fall, it will be the biggest mighty fall in the recent premier league age.

We can't deny how much Arsenal is going down the lane. With Arteta's managerial position on the swing and in jeopardy. It is yet uncertain what will become the latter story. Tactically, Arsenal has no experience in place to match even the weakest of teams in the Premier League games. Which inform me to dismiss their midweek come back as a mirage.

As I congratulate the defending champs Man City for an incredible performance and result-oriented play, I also implore that except something drastic is done about the Arsenal team, their continuous downtrend is not only a possibility but a certainty.
