Portugal and France faced off in what was both countries second meeting since the 2016 EUROs which Portugal came out victorious and made them European champions. The match got on the way with lots of attack and France looking more threatening going forward against the Portuguese side and the first half wasn't over when midfielder Ngolo Kante gave France the lead with a well taken effort.
In the second half, France tried to double their lead but were stopped by some good goalkeeping from the Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio. As the game progressed, it looked like the table was going to turn when Portugal began to mount pressure on the world champions.
Some last ditch and very organized defending from les blue helped them got a win in what was a very exciting encounter.
