The second day of UEFA Champions League finished yesterday. As a statisticks lover I visit some internet resources to study teams' and players' stats. I found some interesting facts and would like to share them with you.
1. Crvena Zvezda is outsider of cross efficiency - 0 completed crosses out of 21 attempts. The last place of Red Star is predictable, but the next inefficient in crosses team is ... Barcelona - 10% (2 out of 20). For example Valencia has 35% (14 / 40) and Dortmund - 41% (11 / 27).
2. CSKA ball posession in two matches is only 43% (23rd place). Despite of this russian team is leader in it's group. The same posession level is having by Monaco ang Young boys. Both oh these teams have 0 points.
3. Both halves in almost every game have stoppage time. Only one goal was scored in first half stoppage time, and eight goals were scored in second half stoppage time. Great difference that could be explained with difference in players motivation in the middle and in the end of matches.
4. Real made 3 shots in woodwork in game with CSKA - it is the highest result among all games. Leo Messi and Marcus Rashford are leaders among players. They have two attempts against woodwork.
5. Barcelona made 36 shots to score 8 goals, PSG achieved the same result with 42 attempts. Real made 56 shots but scored only 3 goals. So different shot efficienty...
6. The last and the most strange fact... Mohamed Ali Camara have 2 fouls commited and also 2 yellow cards (1 red). But it is not the most interesting. There are two players who don't have commited fouls but each of them has red card. Can you try to guess who they are?
Patience...
And a little bit more)
Cristiano Ronaldo and Igor Akinfeev according to UEFA stats don't have fouls, but have cards.
