Former Czech Republic midfielder Pavel Hapal has been appointed the head coach of Slovakia national team.

The 49-year-old replaced Jan Kozak, who stepped down last week after seven key players of the team had gone to a party just after a defeat against Czech Republic.

Kozak said that it was not an option to suspend those players, as it might hurt the whole Slovak football, so he preferred to quit himself.

Hapal, who was a well-known player in the 90s, has also had many stations as a coach. Durind three years, he was in charge of Slovakia U-21 national team, and also had a spell at Sparta Prague this year.
