Leonardo Jardim, who was sacked from Monaco following a poor start of the season, may soon find a new job. The 44-year-old is seen as a candidate to take charge of Qatar national team and to prepare it for the 2022 World Cup.
Jardim had been at the helm of Monaco since 2014 and led the principality club to a title of French champion in 2017. However, a negative run early in the current season led to the coaching change at Monaco, as Jardim was replaced by Thireey Henry.
Qatar national team have never played at the World Cup yet, but they are sure to make a debut on home soil in 2022.
