Some Western countries’ officials completely boycott the World Cup in Russia for political reasons, but not France. The French president Emmanuel Macron is going to St.Petersburg to watch the semi-final match with Belgium.

Macron had said before that he would go to Russia in case France reach the semi-final - and he confirmed it soon after his compatriots beat Uruguay 2:0 in the semi-final.

The UK officials decided to boycott the tournament after an attempted murder of the former Russian spy Sergey Skripal in March, and some other Western countries followed their examples.
