Tonight there are some interesting matches to be played in the play-offs for Champions League football. The match that stand out to me the most is Ajax against Dynamo Kyiv: The runner-up of last season's Eredivisie against the runner-up of the Ukrainian Premier League.
Ajax Amsterdam:
Although Ajax has one of the strongest squads in the Dutch Eredivisie, they didn't play that impressive during the first two matches. Their European campaign on the other hand, is going quite well. They eliminated Austrian team SK Sturm Graz in the second round, and in the third round they have proven to be too strong for Standard de Liège from Belgium.
A player to keep an eye on is definitely Hakim Ziyech. The skillful Moroccan winger is deathly effective in front of goal and a difficult catch for the Ukrainian defence.
Dynamo Kyiv:
Dynamo Kyiv has had a shorter route to the play-offs as they only had to play against Czech club: Slavia Prague. After a draw in Prague, Dynamo finished it off in Kiev with a 2-0 victory.
The player that can lead it's team to victory is Viktor Tsyhankov. The mid-fielder is extremely talented and a lot is expected from him. His style of playing is often being compared with Andriy Yarmolenko. Also left-winger: Benjamin Verbic is a player who can steal a goal in the Johan Cruyff Arena tonight.
Expectations:
I believe it will be a tight game, but I do expect Ajax to win the game. Looking at the history of these teams playing against each other, the odds are slightly in favor of the Amsterdam team. Prediction: 2-1
