Manchester United hosted Burnley last night in phase two of the English Premier League and all hopes were high as it was concluded that the Red Devils will blow Burnley away.

The game started with Manchester United dominating in and out of the matchup and springing passes across the field of play. Things looked promising for Manchester United but the needed biting spirit was lost.

Handling the ball and dominating wasn't enough as the Burnley defence line proved to be solid. Thou, United were gifted a couple of chances in Burnley's 18-yard box but Manchester United were unable to capitalize on the opportunities to bury the game to their advantage.

Instead, Burnley got a single chance on target on the 39th minute through a set-piece which was professionally converted by Wood who headed the ball past De Gea.

A goal to Burnley before halftime and the scoreline was maintained until the whistle was blown for halftime.

Back to the field of play as the drama continued in the second half of this encounter. Manchester United with an urgent approach to the second half's battle on the field of play in order to level things up but their hasty approach cost them another goal with Rodriguez being the man on target on the 56th minute with Wood being the architect.

Manchester United tried their possible best to come back from a 2 goals deficit but all their efforts were futile throughout the remainder of the matchup. 0-2 it ended in favour of Burnley at Old Trafford.
