6 groups 24 teams and weeks of rivalry. We are down to the last four. It is the Africa cup of nations semi final.

The teams are distributed evenly form two regions. Senegal and Nigeria are from the Western part of Africa while Tunisia and Algeria are from the Northern part of Africa. As fate would have it, both regions face themselves in the semi finals.

Are we going to have an all West Africa final, North Africa final, or West Africa Vs North Africa final?

The four teams that qualified have shown that they are the very best and should be in this stage. The Nigerian team needed an inspiration from Odion Ighalo before they could beat the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. They also defended well to prevent the Bafana Bafana from getting the equaliser that would have sent the game into extra time.

The Desert foxes of Algeria are my favourite in this competition. They are just too good and they showed their quality against the Ivorians. They showed that they are tactical, energetic, and improving on penalties. You don't get everything easy and the Ivory coast match is a wake up call for them. They won't take any match for granted.

The Senegalese team parade some of the best players on the continent. The likes of Koulibaly, Sadio Mane, Gana, and Kouyate are some of the stars in the team. Much of their success have been on the shoulders of the Liverpool talisman Sadio Mane. His runs, awareness, and dribbling can unlock any defense. It will be hoped that he improve on his poor finishing. The Cisse led team have not been convincing in the Afcon, they should be blowing teams apart, instead they are struggling for goals which is partly Mane fault who has lost 2 penalty kicks for them.

The Eagles of Tunisia are the second North African team remaining in the competition. Strength, tactical, and never say die spirit are the qualities that brought them to this stage. I think this is a common thing with countries in the Northern part of Africa. They play good football unlike down west or East. No wonder Egypt are the top country in Africa in terms of trophies won.

Tunisia will want to build on their Madagascar win. They know they are 90 minutes away from the final and will do every possible means to achieve that.

My Prediction

Senegal Vs Tunisia

I believe the Teranga Lions of Senegal have what it takes to see of Tunisia. Tunisia have not been convincing and needed a penalty shootout to oust the Black stars of Ghana. They have been poor against evenly matched teams. Senegal are good for the final. The quality in the team should show and that will be the difference in this great encounter.

Algeria Vs Nigeria

Game over for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. You tried in making the semi finals but I don't see them going to the finals. This is Algeria and not South Africa or Burundi. They will punish your shaky defense, boss your midfield and get the goals. The foxes will eat the Eagle for dinner. I don't just see Nigeria winning.

This is football and anything can happen. They are just predictions.
