The Chelsea vs Liverpool match is a match between 2 wounded lions. Both teams lost their First Champions League Group stage match and looked to do better in the league. Chelsea despite the fact that they are at home were the underdogs in the match. However, they put on a late show that could have gotten them the draw.

Chelsea started the match well and should have gone in front. They looked composed at the back and were ready to nullify any Liverpool threat. Things changed for them in the 14th minute. A Christensen foul on Mane saw Trent Alexander-Arnold score a thunderous shot from Salah pass. That was the start of things to come. Emerson went off with an injury and Marcus Alonso was subbed in. Alonso was to be beaten in the air by Firmino for Liverpool second goal of the game. That saw Chelsea trying to prevent more goals and at the same time try to score one or two goals. Christensen injury in the 42nd minute made matters worse for Chelsea as Zouma was brought in for him with 2 subs wasted due to injury.

The second half continued with Chelsea dominating possession and got a well deserved goal from the boots of Ngolo Kante in the 71st minute. Liverpool held on to claim a vital win.

Chelsea fans will be proud of that performance. Many believe Liverpool will sweep them aside but they proved people wrong. The injuries really affected Chelsea game plan in the first half.

Arsenal made a remarkable comeback in the 3-2 win against Aston Villa. The gunners went behind as early as 20th minute after David Luiz lost McGinn who slotted the ball past the helpless Leno. Things changed from bad to worse as Ainsley Maitland Niles was shown a second yellow card and a red in the 41st minute.

The first half ended with Aston Villa winning and they should have gotten one more goal if not for their wastefulness. A foul on Guendouzi in the penalty box saw Nicolas Pepe equalized from the spot and Arsenal fans were hopeful yet again. Their joy did not last for a minute as Aston Villa pegged them back with a goal in the 60th minute. 2-1 and game on. Late flurry of goals from Callum Chambers and Aubameyang saw Arsenal win the game. Aston villa would be furious for the Var and referee Jonathan Moss not to award a penalty for an obvious handball by Sokratis. Arsenal won and they deserve the win. It was a collapse from Aston villa that gave Arsenal the win.

Despite the win, Emery still has a lot to do. The defense is still in shambles and David Luiz is the usual culprit. He is at fault for both of the goals and I believe he should be benched.
