The anticipated Manchester United vs Liverpool match ended in a 1-1 draw. Many people including me believe the game will end in a thumping defeat of Manchester United.

Manchester United turned up to deny Liverpool their ninth win of the season. They set up in a counter attack formation utilising the pace of Welshman Daniel James to break. James gave the Liverpool defense some tough time in the first half.

Manchester United uncharacteristically dominated the first half. They created the chances and always look like scoring. Liverpool never took control that much. I don't know if it was Salah absence or fear. They drew the match due to their first half performance.

Manchester United got the curtain raiser through Marcus Rashford and set to pack the bus from there. Sadio Mane got a goal but was ruled out for a handball.

Substitute Lallana got the equaliser for Liverpool to draw the game for Liverpool.

Dubious VAR call

I don't know the essence of VAR in premier league. The officiating is still the same despite VAR. Poor officiating. I am an Arsenal fan but will tell you Arsenal got lucky with Sokratis handball against Aston Villa. It was a clear penalty and likely yellow card. The same happened in Tottenham match against Watford. Verthogen should have gotten a yellow card for his foul on Deulofeu plus a penalty to Watford. Dele Alli goal caused controversy when the big screen showed No Goal buy the referee awarded the goal. The issue has been explained but despite that, Dele Alli clearly handled the ball. The goal should have been disallowed by VAR. That's 2 out of many other wrong VAR calls.

The recent one is Rashford goal

Liverpool. Divock Origi was fouled in the build up to that goal. The foul occurred right in front of Martin Atkinson but he waved play on. Manchester United utilized the chance to score their goal.

Var checked for a potential foul and allowed the goal. The contact was obviously not enough to disallow the goal.

One question I ask is what if it was a Liverpool counter attack and the foul occurred right at the edge of Manchester united box? Will Atkinson overlook it and wave play on.

VAR has been inconsistent in EPL so far and something must be done.
