With Covid-19 Still Raging on, Football Competitions and Trainings are restarting.
IMAGE SOURCE. While most parts of the world await with trepidation the coming to an end of the new Covid-19 or at best the discovery of a cure and a vaccine, the world of football is not in the least fazed by the Coronavirus. Save for a few countries who have made it categorically clear there will not be recommencing of football in the month of May and June, others are good to go. Suspended since the month of March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Turkish Championship is proposing to resume competitions come 12 of June 2020. The Turkish Championship suspended for almost two months due to the coronavirus pandemic will resume on June 12, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced only recently after a brief meeting that the Superleague. During a press briefing, the president of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), Nihat Ozdemir, announced that the championship is scheduled to recommence on June 12. "We made the decision to restart the professional leagues on June 12, 13, and 14," he said. As a reminder, the Turkish championship had been stopped on March 19 due to the global epidemic of Covid-19. A decision that follows suit to that of German. As things stand right now, The Italian Serie-A had already commenced training about four days ago, precisely the 4th of May, while Germany is set to resume its Bundesliga next week, May 15th. The English Premier League is still unclear when it will recall its players back to training. France Prime Minister has a couple of weeks back made a categorical public declaration that there will be no lifting of the ban on sports. As I have always said, it is not how quick sports and other human endeavors get back in full swing, but how safe, well, and ready is the world right now. It would have been a different issue entirely if there was at least a cure for the Coronavirus, but no, there is no cure and neither is a vaccine. Sincerely @izge.
