The UEFA Champions League final game involving Manchester City and Chelsea on the 29th of May looks set to be staged at the Estadio Do Dragao in Portugal. With the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul no longer seen as a feasible venue due to the rising cases of Covid-19 in Turkey, UEFA were in discussion with the UK Authorities as regards hosting the showpiece final at Wembley. However, FC Porto's Estadio Du Dragao has emerged as the possible venue rather than the Wembley Stadium as proposed by the UK Government. Due to the Covid-19 issue in Turkey, fears were raised by the UK Authorities for it's citizens scheduled to travel to that country and as such they were locked in discussion with UEFA to have the game played at Wembley since both clubs are based in England. However, concerns over waiving quarantine rules for Staffs, Sponsors, VIPs and foreign media who would be making the trip to London would tilted UEFA's decision in favor of Portugal's Estadio Do Dragao Portugal, unlike Turkey is on the green list of countries the UK citizens are allowed to travel to as from Sunday and as such the said venue in Portugal appears set to host the game. Discussion are in place between UEFA and the Portuguese Authorities to allow the 50,000 capacity Estadio Do Dragao Stadium to house 20,000 supporters for the final 6,000 tickets each have been earmarked for supporters of Manchester City and Chelsea. UEFA's final decision on the venue would be announced in the coming hours.
