Everton will continue to extend Rodrigo's handball problem
Everton will still extend the problem of Rodrigo's handball incident by sending an official protest to the Premier League operator. The protest was related to a controversial decision made by referee Paul Tierney. It is known, Tierney did not award a penalty to The Toffees in the Premier League match against Manchester City last weekend. Everton felt at that time the referee should have decided handball and awarded a penalty for them. In the match itself, Everton narrowly lost 0-1 to ManCity. After the game, manager Frank lampard admitted to having confirmed that there were no offside issues prior to the VAR-reviewed handball incident. "I'd like to know [by asking the referee] if it was offside earlier, but I've been told that's not the case." said Lampard. The former Chelsea and ManCity player made a very strong statement and could result in a sanction from the FA to him. Lampard insisted the referee's decision was not just a matter of ordinary mistakes. "The fallacy is when you've done something wrong and don't have time to think about it, [but] they have two minutes to digest the handball." "Some are very incompetent. If not [incompetence], someone has to explain this matter to me."
