Jürgen Klopp is a German professional football manager and former player who is currently the manager of Premier League club Liverpool. He is widely regarded as one of the best managers in the world, having led Liverpool to multiple Premier League titles, Champions League titles, and other major trophies. Prior to joining Liverpool, Klopp had successful stints managing Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga. Jürgen Klopp was a professional football player before he became a manager. He played as a defender, primarily as a center back. He began his professional career with 1. FSV Mainz 05, where he also played as a striker in his early years. He spent the majority of his playing career with Mainz, making over 200 appearances for the club over the course of several seasons. He also had brief spells with Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Pforzheim before retiring from playing in 2001. As a manager, Jürgen Klopp has won several major trophies during his career. With Borussia Dortmund, he won the Bundesliga twice (2010-11 and 2011-12) and the DFB-Pokal once (2012). He also led the team to the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2013.
