MARTIAL MARCHES TO SEVILLA?
Background: In all competitions with Manchester United since his arrival he has made 174 appearances, scored 56 goals and provided 26 assists. He was quite a regular fixture under Solksjaer's reign, though his goal output was not impressive enough. The guy is 26 years old, a time players are usually at the peak and he currently has not cemented a place in his country's national team- the Les Bleus of France. It all boils down to the need for game time and the young man seems to want it now more than ever before, whether it be at United or somewhere else. He is Anthony Martial,a striker by trade who can also play as an inverted winger—an exciting talent years back, much sought after by clubs. Presently: These days his lack of game time has made him no longer a hot topic amongst club's and the arrival of star man, Ronaldo has even further limited Martial's game time. To this effect, it is on record that his agent,Philippe Lamboley, told Skysports that his client wants to leave by all means in the January transfer window and discussions with United must hold this month. Interest: Reports now have it that Sevilla of Spain have tabled an offer for Martial's services. It is a straight loan offer till the end of this season with no strings attached, like obligation to buy. Skysports news can confirm that United have not yet responded to the offer. A lot will depend on the United coach, who has also had a private discussion with Martial last Week Wednesday. The player, clearly expressed his desire to leave having spent 7 yrs with the club. Rangnick is quoted as saying that he perfectly understands Martial's thoughts, though he was quite cautious of this period due to how the Covid-19 occurrences keep making players unavailable and how they are in three competitions currently with huge ambitions in them all. What's next? The picture here, shows that Martial should be granted his wish. He will gain sympathy from the United hierarchy. There is a World Cup coming up in few months, France has qualified and clubs often assist players who have a realistic chance of fighting for a shirt by granting such transfer wishes, afterall it's only a lone move. History: It can be recalled that he cost United £36million from Monaco in 2015 in a deal that could rise to £58m. He has made 10 appearances( 3 as a starter) in all competitions this season and has scored twice. Cheers
