MY FAVOURITE TEAM: CHELSEA (PURE PASSION, RESILIENCE VALOR AND COMMITMENT)
Chelsea FC may be a team that's quite know by everyone but of course it was virtually no ones favourite when I fell in love with the team. it's a club that started existing in 1905 but sometimes the passion and circumstances to which a club is supported most times comes by the number of success achieved the bandwagon of fan a particular team posseses but to me, my favourite team have not even achieved success at the biggest stage in club footballing history infact they were just a mediocre team with only two English premier league title at the domestic level. In fact they weren't the biggest team in the English division but sometimes our heart chooses the team we support and not our senses, WHAT MADE ME FELL IN LOVE WITH CHELSEA FC IN 2005 Prior to 2005 I wasn't much a football fan in fact I only knew of my national football team and I was tired of their lack of commitments in games the way they played without passion and my national team made me dislike football because I felt without a passion for a game then there is no need seeing a football match which the players aren't actually committed or dedicated to giving their best. I watched a particular African's Nation qualifications game in 2004 in which my country Nigeria played in and there was totally no zeal, no fun and no ambition, I couldn't remember the team they played but they totally lost, I was so frustrated in anger, so I switched on to SATELLITE TV in other to watch something else and calm my nerves then I saw a particular match it was a team in all blue against another team so I actually looked at the team's name and it was Chelsea the match was actually against a team called Bolton Wanderers I decided to keep watching because there was a vibe and a positivity about this team in blue and everybody wanted to impress, Bolton wanderers nearly scored a goal but then I saw this defender John Terry threw himself at the ball at kept it out I felt a joy I felt a vigour in me I see the passion in the faces of these players and it wasn't long this player his name was Frank Lampard, he went onto school a sizzling goal from outside the box and I jumped for joy and nearly cut my hands it was two beautiful goals scored by this amazing player and right from that day my love for Chelsea became so deep and today lose win or tie, it's Chelsea till I die. MEMORIES I MADE AS A CHELSEA FAN. I bought a Chelsea Jersey and I started supporting the team and being a fan, I mean they won various titles and lost many and one of the most painful memories of the team I support was when they lost the champions league final in 2008 when they played against Manchester United, the truth was that the players gave their blood, their life and everything they had in them in that match infact they were Spartans, gladiators who were wearing boots and jerseys but their life was everything they gave to win that game. In fact Chelsea went on to lose the game and it was their most humble servant, their most reliable warrior, the man who steals our heart with his brilliant performances that lost the penalty that would have won us the UCL TITLE IN 2008 instead he slipped and fell while playing the penalty, he was full of tears and was inconsolable, it was like the world became silent and it left a scar In our heart, we couldn't believe we lost the title but we kept on standing valiantly and even if we were beaten we lived because the love of the team remained in our heart. MEMORABLE GOALS I LOVED. my most memorable goal was Fernando Torres's goal against FC Barcelona in the UCL semi final when he was left alone in the middle field with no body to tackle him and he went to to score past Valdez to send us into the champions league finals. RAMIREZ'S GOAL AGAINST BARCELONA. DROGBA'S GOAL IN F.A CUP FINAL AGAINST LIVERPOOL. SWEET MEMORIES the joy of supporting a passionate football team such as Chelsea was that it leaves memories ones that leaves the heart grieving and ones that totally changes the essence of your existence. Football is just a game, but to some, to me it's an attitude an addiction and a culture, a way of life for me. 2012 was undoubtedly the greatest year for every human alive that supported Chelsea and why was this? They proved the bookers and every doubter wrong by going on to win the 2012 UCL WHEN the legend of Chelsea Didier Drogba stepped up and scored a beautiful penalty kick and sparked uproar a moment of sweet tears into the eyes of every fan that existed on the planet , the endured the heartbreak of 2008 but four years later we were champions and till this day I still relish the memories.
