Player Scores Against Own Club(Not on loan with opposing side nor playing for his side)
As teams are shaping up for the imminent season it was a pre-season match two days back between two English teams– Portsmouth (now a League one team after dropping out of the Premier League in 2011) and Bristol City a Championship side, this being Portsmouth's fourth pre-season tune up game. It was a hot afternoon requiring regular drink breaks and relaxed refereeing too. Things were going as football games generally go, until a Portsmouth player got injured & was forced off. Portsmouth had used all their substitutes by this time and were short of players for replacement, hence Bristol City agreed to release to them young player Marlee François (18) just for the last 30 minutes of the encounter–a special extra 30minutes(apart from the 90) agreed by both clubs to suit their pre-season needs. By this time, Bristol City was leading 3–2. Alas in the 101st minute, he scored the equalizer against his own side, striking low under his own keeper after a rapid counter attack he started himself. The match finished 3-3. Maybe his teammates were looking at him like so inside the dressing room– Scenes! 🤭😂
