Flag of Roma Ultras turned around and set on fire by Red Star Belgrade fans
Ultras of Red Star Belgrade took over flag of one of the oldest Roma fan groups and showed it up in next game turned around and set it on fire. In ultras world this is big shame which is forcing group whose banner has been taken away and turned around to stop to exist. As far as I understand Red Star fans get bothered with fact that Roma fans become close friends to Croatian Dinamo Zagreb fans called "Bad Blue Boys". Those are gentlemen from Croatia who recently marched saluting Nazi "Sieg heil" in black uniforms in Italy and who chant Ustashe songs on regular basis. Message above Roma flag on the picture is "You chose wrong friends". From what I can read in domestic newspapers they had help in this attack by Napoli fans. Napoli fans are in state of war with Roma's. I am afraid this will start spiral of violence between various ultras. It would be interesting if both AS Roma and Red Star qualify for Champions League and end up in same group next year... Happening on the pitch might be boring, but happening outside of it would be very interesting. Interesting things could happen even earlier if few hundred Italians infiltrate on North Stand of Red Star stadium on ordinary game and try some retaliation, because ordinary games are very low attendance in Serbia. We still remember when people from Split closed to Hajduk Split infiltrated on South Stand on Partizan stadium on the derby day against Red Star. However South Stand was full of people who kicked them hard and only riot police saved their lives. It was anyway brave attempt similar to one when Rad Belgrade fans (15 of them!!) went to Split before game against Hajduk in front of their stand and start shouting against them during ex Yugoslavia. Hajduk fan gave interview after "15 of them came here against all of us. Of course they ended up badly beaten, but we value high their attempt, they showed they have heart." I don't understand this and of course not support such things, but I feel it's going to be interesting in next couple of months. Italians will not let this go just like that for sure.

Milan in the market for a complete defender, says Pioli
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivOG75wP6ew AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli said the club is looking to bring in a "complete defender" in the January transfer window as he aims to fill the hole left by injured captain Simon Kjaer. Serie A resumes on Thursday following the winter break as Pioli prepares his side to face Jose Mourinho's AS Roma without being able to call on Kjaer, who remains a long-term ligament-injury absentee. With the January transfer window now open, Pioli is well aware of where the club's priorities lie. "Kjaer's injury forces us to have an eye on defence," Pioli told a news conference on Wednesday. "I have not made any other requests, I think the team is as complete as possible. "We want to win as many games as possible and pick up more points than last season, so that means a second half of the campaign at a very high tempo. Does we start chasing down Inter from tomorrow? Yes. "I see a team that is hungry and we created this pressure on ourselves because we are ambitious. We need to prove ourselves in every game."
