Twitter Football Rumour Thread: Week 1 (Community Interaction)
Okay, this might fall flat on its face but I figured it was worth a try to get some easy content onto the platform that may encourage community interaction. Over the last few years, the most popular thread on a Liverpool forum that I post on is the Twitter Rumour Thread. A new thread is created every time the previous one reaches 100 pages of discussion to keep things tidy. For reference, the latest thread was created on the 19th June and has 433,090 views. This is only for a Liverpool forum too, so I'm sure there must be some people on here who would be interested in that kind of content. These tend to work best throughout transfer windows when there's a hive of activity from journalists around world and chancers who disguise themselves as 'in the know'. The idea behind this thread is for people to find tweets about football that interest them and to post them in the comment section below for people to talk about. For the most part, they're likely to be about potential transfers that clubs are looking to make, new bids, transfer requests, and updates about players, managers, and so on. Oftentimes, I'll see something that interests me on Twitter but the content isn't big enough to warrant me creating a full post about it. With this thread, you're free to post snippets of content and discuss them under one roof. To make things a little less restrictive on Scorum, let's open the comment section up to other high quality football tweets that people might find interesting. With that being said, I think a few ground rules might be worthwhile. Of course, you don't have to listen to anything I suggest, but I feel this might make things run a little more smoothly:Football tweets onlyNo fake tweets (don't make one up)Include the original source usernameAdd a comment below the tweet with your thoughtsIf there is a video or image worth looking at then include a URL to the tweetFriendly banter is allowed but let's not look to irritate each other too muchIf you enjoy a tweet or the discussion taking place then think about upvoting people who are contributing to the thread. If this proves popular then I will start a new thread each Monday. I will also reward the most active users with upvotes at the end of each week. Example of format to be used in the comment section: James Ducker ‏@TelegraphDucker No new developments on Bruno Fernandes. There hasn’t been a new meeting between #mufc and his representatives, he hasn’t agreed personal terms with the club either I will also add this to the comment section to get things started. Any questions, please do ask. If this isn't popular, I simply won't bother to start another thread.
