The Dzeko-Sanchez deal is not made: AS Roma fans breathe a sigh of relief.
Edin Dzeko - Alexis Sanchez After the many rumors of the last few days, it seems that the situation has taken shape: the Dzeko-Sanchez deal is not done. The two forwards earn more or less the same amount after taxes (7.5 million Dzeko, 7 million Sanchez), but before taxes the amount is different, given that Sanchez benefits from the tax breaks introduced in the Growth Decree. Inter have asked Roma to cover the difference, but the Giallorossi club is not there. So at this point it is clear that, if Inter do not raise in another way, the operation is definitely canceled. The approximately 4 million which make the agreement impossible to reach have made many AS Roma fans happy. It is true that Dzeko is in total rout with Fonseca, he seems destined to remain on the sidelines of the team if a way is not found, but Sanchez certainly could not be the worthy replacement for the Bosnian. The new DS Tiago Pinto has already received a lot of criticism for having initiated such a speech with the rivals of Inter, the same managers who, citing fanciful physical problems of Spinazzola, a year ago blew up the exchange with Politano, after the wing had already made medical examinations and greeted the fans with the yellow and red scarf around his neck. Furthermore, the press, the Roman radios and the supporters themselves immediately questioned the reasons why Roma thought of such an exchange, once again doubting the qualities of its management staff. Of course Sanchez has shown extraordinary things in the past and he is certainly not a player to be thrown away, but he is no longer so young, he is really too often injured and above all he is a striker with completely different characteristics from those of Dzeko. In that role, among other things, Roma already has Pedro, Mkhitaryan, Carles Perez, and now also El Shaarawy. In short, it would not have been logical...yet it was the Giallorossi who proposed the exchange to Inter. On the other hand, the financial situation of the Nerazzurri seems to be really worrying. Marotta has found an agreement to move salary payments for November and December to May. If we consider that they cannot conclude a market operation of the kind that, on a technical level, would have provided a very important player for Conte, then an alarm bell sounds. Much more than a vice-Lukaku, Dzeko would have been a lethal weapon and, even if he doesn't live the best moment of his career, he could have been the tip of the balance in the championship fight. And now what will happen to the Giallorossi 9 in these last 48 hours of transfer? For the fourth time, Edin seems ready to pack his bags...we'll see if this time the love story between Roma and one of its greatest strikers has really reached the end.
