Tonali and Zaniolo have been sent home from International duty
News from Italia are saying that Tonali and Zaniolo have been sent home from International duty because of some illegal betting. I don't have more information about this, but that shows that Ivan Toney is not the only one. A lot of players are obviously "in the game". Why are they doing that with so much money they have ? Is it attempt to help friends to get rich or consequence of threatening or they just want to earn more money? Are they really involved ? Fact that they have been sent home from international duty means accusations are serious. They are not explaining how did they break rules against betting. We don't know how did they discover them ? Probably someone paid very big bet on some event and they ensure event happen during the game. Easiest way for that is getting yellow card. Player got little nervous kicked the ball after whistle or make little rough start and that's it. It doesn't affect final result. Some tweet said there was an investigation against ex Arsenal player Granit Xhaka about that. It said he did that in cooperation with Albanian mafia, but that investigation didn't lead to any result in terms of suspension or proving guilt. It said even they knew time frame when yellow card event will happen during games. Ivan Toney received long term ban from football because of illegal gambling on or against himself. I'm sad for Sandro Tonali he looks like very good player and he's got very nice song of Newcastle fans. If he gets ban that would be big blow for Newcastle United. I don't know if betting scandals from his Milan time can affect his current career in England, but we witnessed how doing wrong things in Juventus can lead to global football ban on excellent Tottenham director of football Fabio Paratici. I wouldn't exclude the possibility that if guilty Sandro could get world wide ban too. We're waiting for more information about the case and hope Tonali didn't do what he has been accused for. I can imagine opponent fans singing this vs Newcastle now: Sandro Tonali when he's upset he loves to swat to win the bet mate... I am joking of course and really hope he will not get some ban.
