Tottenham won Shakhtar Donetsk 5:1
Harry Kane scored 4 goals in Spurs preseason friendly game against Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk and throw in the water all talks how he is not good fit for Ange Postecoglou system. First was penalty after Maddison tricked opponent inside the box, second was header after Maddison great cross, third was easy finish after good Dejan Kulusevski pass and fourth was tap in after good Solomon shot which was deflected by goalkeeper. Big daddy reminded us again how good football player he really is. Here are my impressions from the game. Maddison is real master of the game and his arrival is big add-on to Tottenham squad. Man is excellent on the ball, he really knows knowledge. Dejan Kulusevski and Son should have bigger impact in this game. South Korean failed to shot on goal in right moment in couple of occasions, Deki tried a lot, but a part from Kane's goal didn't do some big things. Sarr showed he's also good player we can count on. Romero, Royal and Udogie were solid, while Ben Davies showed he can't be left central back in back four. He doesn't have necessary height and every higher cross on him could be goal. Vicario couldn't do much on goal, but made big save near the end. He showed how good reflexes he has when he tipped over crossbar shot from 7-8 meters. Just after that he catch live ball from feet of advancing opponent. He's very quick, I think he will be good. Worth mentioning is Dane Scarlett's finish for 5th goal in stoppage time. He got ball inside the box moved back turn around and find corner of goal for 5:1. Got feeling he will be serious player too. I know it was not Bayern, Real Madrid or PSG on the other side, but I am very satisfied with what I saw in second half. Of course Ange need to work with those players a lot to enforce his style of play. Our players need to move better on the pitch, to do better press when opponents have the ball. I hope Mickey Van de Ven will quickly fit on LCB position and that we'll get another player for that position too. I also hope we will manage to keep Harry Kane. It would be not right that he leave club now when football master like Maddison arrived to feed him up with balls. Next game is on Wendesday against one of the biggest clubs in world Barcelona.
