The MLS is usually seen as a last stop for a player before their career ends, but it should become an option for players with something leftThe Major League Soccer(MLS) has always been an avenue for European footballers who are past their prime to venture into a whole new different scene where they earn their Benjamins and enjoy a different sort of fame that is showered upon them in their past. Players like Kaka, Ibrahimovic and quite possibly in the near future, Rooney, are just a rare few who have tasted the U.S. soccer life and are loving it!We've seen Wayne Rooney make the jump to the MLS this season, but like so many before him, Rooney's come over to North America well past his prime. Hopefully, the MLS is eventually able to lure some stars over while they're still somewhat in their prime. When that starts to happen, the MLS can truly be one of the better leagues in the world. Getting these players to come on over would certainly go a long way in elevating it. Keisuke Honda - Montreal Impact At the recent World Cup in Russia, Keisuke Honda became the first ever Asian player to have scored against a nation from every continent, the top scoring Asian player in World Cup history and the only player to register a goal and an assist in each of the last three tournaments. Honda is a top player that just like Quaresma, comes with a great sense of fashion that appeals to the world. The MLS would be a great move for Honda who could bring more finesse to a growing league. Maybe a move to Montreal or even Miami if possible? Ricardo Quaresma - L.A. Galaxy After faltering in the World Cup 2018 with Portugal and with his contract at Besiktas coming to an end without a sign of it being extended, Quaresma could be exactly what the MLS needs and vice versa. The 34-year-old winger who was once compared to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo has played football across many top teams in Europe and with a sense of fashion and style that matches his skills on the pitch. The star from Portugal should really have no problems settling down in places such as New York or even Los Angeles - he may be the next superstar to join the Galaxy, you may never know! Carlos Bacca - Portland Timbers The AC Milan striker who spent last season out on loan to Villarreal should rethink his options as its very clear that the Rossoneri don’t wish to extend the Colombian’s contract at the club. He could very well still play in Europe but the fact is that with the recent signings that the MLS have made, America would be a great option for a player who still has a lot of to offer in terms of scoring goals and winning championships. Teams like Columbus Crew or even Portland Timbers could do with a striker of Bacca’s quality. Álvaro Negredo - Sporting Kansas City Negredo has always been a topic everywhere during the transfer window and this is no different. The 32-year-old striker that applies his traits in Turkey with Besiktas has been a target for most MLS clubs with Sporting Kansas City being one of them. The Western Conference powerhouses at the moment with FC Dallas, who are looking for a forward to boost their goal scoring charts. Their current midfielder, Graham Zusi leading the goalscoring charts for the team so there is no reason why Peter Vermes shouldn't be diving into the market and making a bid for someone of Negredo’s quality. Juan Fernando Quintero - Atlanta United The MLS has brought us many young starlets from across the globe and Quintero just could be the next one on that list. The former Porto player who plays for River Plate now has a 5 million euros buyout fee. He’s a packaged player with his intense speed and flair and so its no wonder why clubs such as Atlanta United have been keeping their eyes on the young attacking midfielder. If a deal was to surface, we can be sure that with a talent like that, he will only make a stronger team, stronger. John Terry - Chicago Fire The former Chelsea captain and centre back, Terry would be a perfect signing for the MLS providing a steady defensive shape for any club that has a leaky defense, dare I say, Chicago Fire? He would play as a custodian role, imparting his knowledge to the young and upcoming defenders such as Johnathan Campbell who could do with some experienced words from a defender who has played against the world’s best. Lets just hope he imparts his skills on stealing a ball rather than stealing whats not his outside of the field. Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez - Los Angeles FC The Mexican Little Pea who has made the whole of Old Trafford scream his name has slowly deteriorated into a striker for West Ham United fighting against relegation in an already intense English Premier League. To add to that, he isn’t a first team player having to reclaim his position against people like Marko Arnautovic who poses as a big challenge for the Mexican.
