ENGLISH FA CUP ANALYSIS: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Southampton. Can Wolves take advantage of the Saints' current poor form?
The last games of the English FA Cup round of 16 takes place today with Wolverhampton Wanderers taking on fellow EPL team, Southampton, whilst Barnsley host Chelsea. The winners in today's games will join the likes of Bournemouth, Manchester United, Manchester City, Leicester City, Sheffield United, and Everton In the Quaterfinals. For today's analysis I will be taking us through the game between Espirito Santos' Wolves and Ralph Hasenhutti's Southampton. Shall we proceed? 1) WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERER: No doubt about it, Espirito Santos's have been a shadow of the Wolves we used to know, however their better run of games in their last 8 outings in all competitions which consist 3 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses compared to Southampton's 2 wins and 5 losses tips them, Wolves, to get a win in this game. Another stat that favors Wolves getting a win in this game is their better "head to head" against the Saints. They, Wolves have won 4, drawn 1, and lost 3 of their last 8 games against Ralph Hasenhutti's men, I guess this should give them some kind of morale going into this game. 2) SOUTHAMPTON: Coming out plain from my side, there is no reason favoring Ralph Hasenhutti's men getting a win in this game if I am to go with their recent poor performance which also include a current run of 4 losing games. Really sad you want to say. However, their tight "head to head" stat against Wolves should give them a little bit of morale going into this game. Well, one other thing that might see them get a win is the huge hunger to break their losing streak. The question is, do they have the required level of hunger to achieve this? One thing I am most certain of is that we will get an entertaining again considering both teams' attacking style of play. Feel free to drop your opinions and comments, they will be greatly appreciated. Much love from your Football Analyst and Writer, IbkDaGreat.
