This information is taken from issue 58 of "Kicker sportmagazin" dated 15 July 1974.

"Kicker" held a survey among 67 sports journalists about the best players of the 1974 World Cup. Each journalist was asked to rank the six best players. Based on that, "kicker" used an inverted points system to compile the list of the best players. "Kicker" published the vote of each journalist and the final overall result. I took the final list and separated it into tactical categories forwards, midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers:
