The rising American golfer Justin Thomas shines again with his fifth title this year at CJ CUP @ NINE BRIDGES in Jeju, Korea. The 24-year-old confirmed his first victory in Korea and third in Asia in three consecutive years with drama in the finals.

Playing as one of the most popular players of the year, Thomas heads to Jeju after having to take off the CIMB Classic trophy and only finish at T17 in Kuala Lumpur. But not the result as if preparing himself to perform excellently in Jeju.

Successfully played with a score of 9-under 63 on day one, Thomas had a bad play on the second day with a 2-over 74. However, the score of 70 on the third day took him to the competition for the title in this first PGA TOUR event in South Korea.

His chances of recording history in Korea were disturbed by a double bogey at the hole 5 par 3. However, he managed to get three consecutive birdies of hole 9, 10, and 11. Got a bogey at the 13th and 17th holes, Thomas almost closed the tournament in a game of 72 holes when he almost recorded an eagle on the 18th hole.

Nevertheless, he managed to get a birdie and impose a play-off with Australian player Marc Leishman after both equally recorded a total of 9-under 279.

Returning to play 18 holes, with a length of 568 yards, at this Nine Bridges Golf Club, Thomas and Leishman both got par in the first play-off hole. However, on the second play-off hole, Leishman, who tries to reach the green in two strokes, must pay the price for his decision after the ball has entered the water. While Thomas successfully got a birdie and won the tournament.

This victory at once gave him a seventh win in his professional career. Not an easy victory, given the strong wind blowing in Jeju contributed to the total score he earned.

"It's an honor to win this first CJ Cup. It's tough to play today, in the last three days the conditions are incredibly heavy with the wind blowing, I persevered to play patiently on weekends and today, "said Thomas.

Thomas specifically highlighted his two 3-wood strokes in the play-offs he played with Leishman.

"I did two great 3-wood punches in the second play-off. What an amazing way to close this year. I am excited to not do anything for a while, "he added.

The best achievement for Asian players in this event is booked by golfer host Kim Whee. Kim managed to finish in third place after posting a total of 6-under 282, 3 strokes behind Thomas and Leishman.

The champion of Order of Merit Asian Tour 2015 Anirban Lahiri finished in the T5, better than when finished T10 at CIMB Classic a week earlier. Lahiri scored a 69-71-69-74 score to achieve the second best achievement for him during play at the PGA Tour event. Previously, his best achievement was when finishing T2 on Memorial Tournament.
