According to this article, it just might be!

OHF volunteer hockey coaches required to address gender diversity with children players

Well now excuse my language but what the flying fuck

Ok, I get it, gender identity is a hot topic nowadays but is it really the coach' role to talk about this social issue? The more I think about this the more I'm shocked. You can probably guess my opinion on that which, in case you don't, is "No way".

What's worse is that they "trained" volunteers to do it! I highlighted trained because it is 90 minutes of training (You read that right, minutes!). I'm sorry but I don't think such a short training will do anything good for the kids. I think that it's just as worse as no training at all.

What do these people think? Can such a difficult subject be brought in between 2 goals? I don't know where we are going as a society but this is a step in the wrong direction. When you hear parents in the interview, they're all like "Yeah... it's okay, I guess?" because they probably don't want people to judge them. But seriously, can parents talk about sexuality with their own kids without society interfering?

What's even funnier is this line from the article:

Education Minister Lisa Thompson also refused to comment on the training.

So now our kids are "protected" by a "not-worth-a-comment" training.

Great! I hear parents talk about homosexuality like it's the worst disease ever, and now they want to open the debate about LGBTIQ2S. Too soon? I don't know, but I'm sure this is not the end of the debate...

So Scorum, what do you think about this? Should coaches teach our children about sexuality? And if so do you think they have the necessary training?
