"Contact Combat" is what those funky letters in Hebrew translate into. Started by a Czech Jewish man who had to fight in the Quarter he lived in way back in the 1930's-40's, it has evolved into a sport/Martial Art and even a exercise and workout craze. It has been widely featured in many mainstream gyms and Dojo's as both an intense cardio workout and self defense course.

To break down what the IDF and other forces use it for, it is to inflict in the shortest amount of time the most bang for your buck. Being vigilant of where you are and exits as well as focusing on disarming and soft targets is a theme. It's a mix of everything from Karate, Boxing, Street Fighting to Jiu Jitsu and even some Aikido techniques one could argue. The below video shows practical applications especially for women who in many countries purse snatching and grabs are not the thing out of horror movies but actually occur. The flow is to add confusion and chaos when done quickly. I wrap my hair in a bun after taking some self defense classes probably because I'm lazy but also because one of the takeaway's was that even a pony tail is a target to use to do a take down.....the more you educate yourself the more you know how to maneuver!

The below video shows 5 basic moves and is for educational and informational demonstration only. (Youtube common license)
