Last night I went to see a few amateur fights in Studio City, California. It was a great night of beer and high kicks as I bore witness t a few very talented fighters who claimed solid wins the night of.

I loved the ambiance of an amateur fight; friends and family cheering for each guy was very cool to see. The energy was completely positive and the friend who joined me seemed to enjoy the fights as well.

I believe the event was called Muay Thai: Xstriking, but in actuality it was amatuer kickboxing as it seemed no fighter threw knees or elbows.

There were  a few solid TKO's by way of retirement (as some guys were dropped numerous times but had the heart to continue).

I just wanted to post a piece of my Friday night on a day in which Mark Hunt got choked out, and Canelo Alvarez proved himself to be the best middleweight on Earth.

I myself boxed in high school and had a few amateur fights both in gym and out of state. Those experiences made me a bit more confident in my daily life and showed that I was able to let go of my ego even for just those moments between the ropes. I think it's important most everyone experiences some type of martial art in their life as opens much of the potential people seem to forget they possess.

It was a fun night of fights, till' the next one!
