If someone attacks you with a stick, you can move to the side or step back or lower your head to defend yourself. But what you want to do is to finish it as soon as possible. And if you keep moving here and there, the attacker will keep attacking you.

You can read one of my recent posts - What We See In Movies vs What We do In Real Life For Self Defense. It helps you understand what we are going to talk about today.

When we watch movies, sometimes we see the hero breaks the stick with his hand or kick. If you are good at breaking, that's great. The fact is, breaking stick will not stop the attacker. You might get hurt while breaking the stick.

You can see how the girl kicks to the stick. It also shows in the thumbnail of the video. Let's watch this video. This is not my video, and all video credit goes to chintya candranaya.

From 1:45 to 3:09 Minutes

When someone attacks with a stick or baseball bat, the more you move here and there, the attacker will get more chance to attack you. So get in as fast as you can. Before swinging the stick, you can get in, or if you cannot do that, you can also get in as soon as he finishes the swing. Do not give the attacker another chance to attack you again.

In this video, you see the girl hits the stick and breaks it. What did the stick do anyway? It's the attacker you should hit, not the stick. Well, even if you break the stick, the attacker can still attack you with the broken part of the stick.

We also see a spinning kick. You can do spinning kick if you want, but it can put you in a vulnerable position since your back is exposed while doing the spinning kick. If the attacker is smart and fast enough, he can attack you instantly. I made a post before and shared my opinion about spinning kicks.
