To defend yourself, you use your strength, speed, techniques, and skills. We talk about different things about martial arts that you can use to defend yourself. So can you use one technique against every attacker?
There are some questions you cannot answer in one word. Whether you say yes or no as an answer to this question, both answers are right in context. Here I'm sharing my opinion. You can have a different opinion. So please feel free to share that in the comment section.
When you are being attacked, the situation, and the attacker's strength and skills matter. You can use one technique against many attackers but the same technique might not work against all attackers. The attacker can have a background and he knows what to do against your move. So you cannot use one technique or the same technique against him.
You also have to consider the situation when someone attacks you. You have to adapt to the situation as well as the attacker. If you learn to adapt and make your move, you will always be unstoppable. That's the skill that you will find very useful to defend yourself.
There are some techniques that work against every attacker. If the attacker is bigger and stronger than you, you can make your move and it works. The technique is designed in such a way that it is applicable against every attacker.
For example, if someone grabs your hand, you can move your hand in a circle against the attacker's thumb. Even if the attacker is very strong, he will not be able to hold your hands anymore.
In this technique, you are not pulling your hand. You are just moving your hand and it puts pressure against the attackers' thumb. As a result, you will be able to release your hands.
