You can use different techniques against an attack. Some techniques are more appropriate in certain situations. It mainly depends on what you want to do. If you are a beginner, learn one or two techniques. If you learn different techniques at the same time, you might get confused.

Today we are going to talk about another self defense technique against hair grab and its effectiveness for self defense. I'm sharing a video that shows a similar thing. By the way, I do not know the language that they speak in the video. If you know the language, you can understand their explanation.

From 7:10 to 8:35 Minutes

When someone grabs your hair, you grab his/her hand that holds your hair and get down that you see in this video. There are a couple of things you can pay attention to. When you get down, move a little back and do not lose your balance. When you get down, sit in a position so that you can get up fast and counter-attack or defense.

So is it effective for self defense?

Yes, it is useful if you can use this technique properly. In this video, you see they just grab the attacker's hand. What you can do is, put your both thumbs in the attacker's palm and your other fingers will be on the back fist. Now apply pressure on his hand. This is going to be painful. And he will release his hand.

When you get down grabbing his hand like this, you see the attacker is no longer grabbing your hair. Since you apply pressure on his hand and get down stepping back, it would be difficult for him to attack you. There are different situations in life and you can use this technique.

In case there are multiple attackers and someone grabs your hair and pulls, you can use your opponent's energy against him. As soon as he grabs your hair and pulls your head down, you are getting down grabbing his hand and applying pressure on it. But you just change the direction.

Now you can lock the attacker's hand or get up and counter-attack. What I am saying, that's my opinion. You can have a different opinion, and I respect that. I hope you will find it useful. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
