Are you listening? I think you are reading. I mean reading this post. Today we are going to talk about listening, talking and reacting for self defense. If you are passionate about martial arts or self defense, you will find this useful.

There are some situations where you do not get any chance to talk, but most of the situations are not like that. When the attacker comes to you with any weapon, he will draw his weapon to attack you or threaten you. If someone has a knife, and he wants to attack you, he can stab you. But if his intention is to rob you, he will use the knife to threaten you. If you do not co-operate with him, he can stab you.

Let's talk about this in context. I'm going to share a video. This is not my video and all video credit goes to Nick Drossos.

When someone holds a knife, he wants you to do something. In this situation that you watch in the video, the attacker wants your money. Now if you do not listen to him, and try to do something, he will stab you and then take your money. So listen to him first and do what he says.

He wants your money, you can say, "okay, I'm giving you my money or money is in your that pocket." Even if you decide to attack the attacker, you had better listen to him before making your move. When you co-operate with the attacker, you will find the moment when the attacker gets distracted.

You can distract him or if you get any chance, you can move the knife away, attack him and get out of there pretty fast. You do not have to stay there and keep fighting until the end. Listen to the attacker, talk to him, distract him, make your move and run.

What would you do in this situation? Please feel free to express your thoughts in the comment section. I appreciate your support and feedback.

Stay safe. Always be happy!
