When you start your martial arts training as a beginner, you learn how to punch. Before learning how to punch, you will learn how to make a fist. Well, everyone knows how to punch, so is it important to learn how to make a fist?

You can punch, but what happens next? Will you break something that you hit or you break your hands and fingers.

If you do not make a fist properly, you might get hurt on your thumb or other fingers. You do not want that happen, right?

To make a fist, extend your all fingers and then curl your all fingers. When you curl and bend all four fingers to make a fist, it will be tight and hard even you do not put your thumb.

Here most people make a mistake. Don't just keep your thumb here and there. Put and keep your thumb around your first two knuckles.

Please look at the above picture and you will get a clear idea of how to make a fist. Practice that in your training. Well, you will not take the time to make a fist when you fight. You will do not fast and throw a punch.

When you practice, make it slowly first to get the proper way of doing it. When you fight for self defense, you do not have to think about how to make a fist. You will do it automatically and punch.

You punch with your hands, when you punch, it is not only the hands that hit, the whole body is behind on your strike. You use your body to make the move and punch. It is way powerful and effective.

You usually hit with the first two knuckles when you punch. You can do push up with fist. You can use a punching bag to practice and be good at punching. Spend some time on your training. You will see the difference on your own.
