Sikaran is a Filipino martial arts style where it involves more on kicking and also comes from the word sikad which means kick. This was originated in the Philippines in the town of Rizal where it has been practiced by Filipino Ancestors long before the Spaniards came into the Philippines.

There is no proper documentation or not even written into history but it has been passed from generation to generation of people. It might be resembles like Karate martial arts but their movements differentiate each other wherein Sikaran has its own distinct kicking styles.

It is mainly practiced by by farmers long time ago which has been their past time after they are done working in their farm land. For time passed, it was then developed into an  organized sports. 

An organization in Rizal are continuously promoting this kind of martial arts with many organized tournaments. World Sikaran Brotherhood (WSB) and World Sikaran Brotherhood of the Philippines (WSBP) focuses on developments and promoting of Sikaran that they will be recognized by non-Rizal Filipinos and also to other countries all of the world.

This martial arts style does involved also in punching but primarily focuses on kicking. 

Filipino practitioners then established schools for those who want to learn this kind of fighting style and then which influence to other countries like  Saudi Arabia, America, Australia and Canada.
