A few months ago I had a strange dream, a dream about baseball. It's strange for me because I don't follow or really care about baseball. The dream happened a few days before Manny Machado was traded to the LA Dodgers and in the dream Machado had been traded to the Dodgers, and the Dodgers were down 3-1 in the World Series to the Boston Red Sox.
At the time I didn't think anything of the dream until I heard on the radio that Machado had been traded to the Dodgers. I told my brother about the dream and he immediately told me I should go make a bet on the Red Sox winning the World Series over the Dodgers. I tracked down a site that would allow some parlays and loaded up the odds. I thought it would be crazy odds, it's hard enough to predict who's going to win any championship and even harder to say who they are going to win it over. The odds? 9-1... I was hoping for something closer to 100-1 so I never bothered making the bet.
Well I'm regretting that decision today as the World Series featuring Boston and LA is about to begin. I guess I should start listening to my dreams a bit more often.
