A former major league pitcher who played for the New York Yankees shocked the death of a girl.

Mexican media Info Bae reported on the 21st that former Major League Baseball player Sergio Mitre,was found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend's 1-year and 10-month-old daughter.Mitre was reported to have beaten the child in July 2020 while having an argument with his ex-girlfriend.The child fainted from vomiting and was taken to the hospital, but died of hypovolemic shock within a few hours.

After examining evidence of the crime, a Mexican court in Saltillo found Mitre guilty.In Coahuila, the crime of killing a woman carries a minimum sentence of 40 years and a maximum of 60 years in prison.Sooner or later,the sentence will be decided through a trial.

Mitre, a 190 cm 102 kg tall right-handed pitcher, made his major league debut with the Chicago Cubs in 2003.He played for the Florida Marlins, New York Yankees, and Milwaukee Brewers, averaging 265 ERAs of 5.21 and strikeouts in 143 games (64 starts) 13-30 in eight seasons through 2011.

After playing for two and a half years with the top-ranking Yankees since 2009, Mitre ended his major league career at the end of 2011.After rehabilitating his shoulder,he signed a nurturing player contract with the Japanese professional baseball Rakuten Golden Eagles in 2014, but never made it to the first-team stage. He resumed his playing career in the Mexican League in 2017, but 2019 was the last.

It caused trouble outside of baseball.He was arrested on charges of assaulting a woman in Sara Peros de Saltillo, where he last played in 2019, and received an indefinite suspension from the club. Then in July 2020, he was arrested in Saltillo on charges of possessing marijuana and sexually assaulting his girlfriend's daughter and was imprisoned in prison.

He ended up committing the horrific crime of killing a girl.It was a big shock to MLB fans who remember him.
