Ryu Hyun-jin will be the second South Korean pitcher to start the opening game of the Major League Baseball.
The Major League Baseball reported that Ryu will be on the starting mound in the opening game of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday . Ryu will start the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks and face his former teammate zack Greinke.
Ryu Hyun-jin, who showed good performance in exhibition games, was honored with the opening game, as the Los Angeles Dodgers' unswerving first starter clayton Kershaw injury failed to make the opening game for the ninth consecutive year.
Meanwhile, it is the first time in 18 years for a South Korean pitcher to start the opening game of the Major League since Park Chan-ho in 2001.
