New York Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner expressed his disappointment to the players.

Steinbrenner revealed his thoughts on the Yankees slump in a video interview with The New York Times on the 2nd.

The Yankees currently sit in fourth place in the American League East with a 41-39 record.They are 8.5 games behind the No. 1 Boston Red Sox.On the 1st, in the home game against the Los Angeles Angels, they lost 8-11 after scoring 7 points in the inning against Shohei Ohtani.

Steinbrenner recently expressed disappointment at the players who didn't live up to expectations,saying he was annoyed, disappointed and upset about the team's performance.

Most of the responsibility lies with the players,he said.They are talented players who play at the highest level in the world. But if you show such performance, Yankees fans, including me,will continue to be angry.

Steinbrenner said he had several recent team meetings with the players, one of which ended in anger and outrage.

He put his trust in manager Aaron Boone and general manager Brian Cashman, saying,I've never seen people work harder than them.He continued,I've met coach Aaron Boone several times this season, and I've talked over the phone again this week. I've never yelled at him,he said, promising to cherish Boone and support him constantly.

Steinbrenner also said:I have absolutely no intention of the Yankees becoming a seller until the trade deadline.Even if we exceed the club luxury tax limit, we will strengthen our power and challenge ourselves to win the championship until the end of the season.
